Relief print, oil based ink on Kitakata paper

I wanted to honor printmaking’s rich history of protest art by amplifying a cause that is personal to me. I’ve been a cellist most of life and have encountered unwelcoming attitudes possessed by classical musicians. I deeply care about the preservation of this artform and its exclusivity does it no favors. This piece calls a more accepting and open attitude I feel this community must take.
